The Keller Cove Swim on September 23. It includes ½, 1 and 2-mile distances.
The team is looking for members that have been certified as an Adult Learn to Swim instructor. The more the merrier!
Swimming at the Legends pool, Tuesdays & Thursdays the divers will be practicing and their safety requirements include that the bulkhead be at least 25 yards from the edge of the pool where the diving boards are. The result of this is that CALM may have only 4 or 5 lanes on those days.
It is rumored that there will no longer be backstroke flags when CALM returns to Spieker. Tiffany will verify if that is correct. If so, it was proposed that CALM buy flags. According to USMS insurance requirements, backstroke flags are required.
We have no budget, working without a budget is challenging
The number of team members ranges between 165 and 175, depending on the time of year
Accurate team rosters are now available to the on deck coaches, they are responsible for collecting visiting swimmers dues
We discussed ways to get Tiffany a budget so that funds could be allocated for increasing the assistant coaches hourly pay rate
MEET DIRECTOR – nothing to report
-Jann has an assistant, Ben Chung, and they are investigating new venues for a social get together, possibly a dance party! Having the summer team meeting and party (in the past held at Strawberry Canyon) at the Triple Rock restaurant is a possibility.
Adult Learn to Swim, CALM will survey the team for certified instructors
It was decided that developing a comprehensive fiscal plan for 2018 is a priority. Ben agreed to develop an outline that could guide our thinking.
Assistant Coach pay and schedules are contractually the responsibility and purview of the University
Late September 2017; exact date and location to be determined
